New Delhi: Chief Minister of Delhi Rekha Gupta described the Women’s Reservation Bill as a landmark and far-reaching initiative that will significantly strengthen women’s empowerment in the country. He said the Act is poised to open new avenues for women and enhance their role in governance in the years ahead.During his visit to Tirupati, the Chief Minister said that the entire nation is looking at the Bill with hope and expectation. “This will ensure meaningful participation of women in the mainstream of decision-making,” she said, adding that it represents a decisive step towards inclusive governance. During the visit, Gupta prayed at Sri Padmavati Ammavari temple, wishing peace, prosperity and good health for the citizens. He described the temple as a constant center of faith and devotion, where devotees feel a deep sense of spiritual power and grace.He visited the Integrated Command and Control Center of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), appreciated its use of modern technology and efficient management system. Gupta noted that the center plays an important role in ensuring the safety of pilgrims and facilitating smooth darshan. “The seamless blend of tradition and technology here is exemplary and can serve as a model for religious institutions across the country,” he said.Reflecting on his visit to Tirupati Balaji Temple, the Chief Minister said he felt a deep sense of spiritual satisfaction. He highlighted that lakhs of devotees visit the temple from across India and abroad and praised the administration for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, security and crowd management. “It is truly commendable to arrange darshan of 70,000 to one lakh devotees every day without difficulty,” he said while congratulating the TTD team for their efforts.Gupta also said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, women’s empowerment has gained new momentum in the country. He mentioned that several policies and programs centered on ‘Women Power’ have been implemented to empower women to be independent, empowered and decision-makers. The Women’s Reservation Bill, he added, reflects this visionary vision and will strengthen women’s participation in India’s democratic structure.Emphasizing the cultural context, the Chief Minister said that Indian tradition accords utmost respect to women citing examples like ‘Lakshmi Narayan’, ‘Sita Ram’ and ‘Radhe Shyam’. “When our cultural ethos places women in such high positions, it is only fitting that they have equal and dignified representation in our democratic system,” she said.Conveying his best wishes to women across the country, Gupta expressed confidence that the coming era will be defined by women’s leadership, empowerment and progress. He said that the Women’s Reservation Bill would prove to be a milestone in this journey and add new impetus to the country’s growth story.
