New Delhi: Former Assistant Dr Arvind Kejriwal And now a BJP leader, Swati Maliwal on Saturday leveled a scathing allegation against her former boss, claiming that before becoming chief minister he wore “torn pants”, used a “two rupee pen” and “came around in a dilapidated car”, but after coming to power in Delhi, “he built a house worth Rs 100 crore.“Speaking to news agency ANI, Maliwal contrasted what he described as two different phases in Kejriwal’s life. His comments came a day after the Raghav Chadha-led rebellion against the party leadership and the merger of 2/3rd of the AAP’s power in the Upper House with the BJP.Maliwal was among those who joined the breakaway party.Maliwal, in an unbridled attack, said, “If anyone is a traitor, it is Arvind Kejriwal. When he started his movement, he wore torn pants, used a two-rupee pen and drove around in a completely dilapidated car. We were all inspired, thinking that this man would bring change to the country.”Continuing his criticism, he said, “During the agitation, he showed the whole country big, sweet dreams and the country was enthralled. But what did he do? He built a house worth a hundred crore rupees on coming to power. He added a bar, laid carpets worth crores, and bought fridges at the cost of lakhs and now the people of Delhi are worth so many crores. Defeating him, he left for Punjab.“He also targeted the AAP government in Punjab under the Chief Ministership god valueAllegations of abuse of power and resources. “They are using Punjab like an ATM. The man they beat me up was given Z-plus security. Today, he has been appointed chief advisor to Bhagwant Mann… The man who used to speak against VIP protocol, when his convoy left, we counted fifty vehicles, but it went over fifty. So, what constitutes sedition? Acting against one’s core principles is what I call treason. And there is no bigger traitor than Arvind Kejriwal...”The dramatic exit of seven AAP Rajya Sabha members on Friday dealt a significant blow to the party leadership. Leaders besides Chad Sandeep Pathak and Ashok Mittal announced their exit from the party, which emerged in 2012 from an anti-corruption movement led by activist Anna Hazar.
