New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday chose Subvendu Adhikari as the next Chief Minister of West Bengal after the saffron party won 207 seats in the state.Adhikari met West Bengal Governor RN Ravi and demanded the formation of the first BJP-led government in the state.“Voi out and, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi G says, there is confidence,” Adhikari said after being selected for the top post.“The people of Bengal have given us a historic mandate. We will fulfill all the promises made in the BJP’s election manifesto in Bengal,” he added.Subvendu Adhikari is seen as one of the main forces behind the BJP’s dramatic rise in West Bengal.
