New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday distributed over 51,000 employment letters among new hires at the 19th Rojgar Mela through video conferencing, as part of the government’s broader push to create jobs.Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh said that since the launch of the Rozgar Mela series by Prime Minister Modi on October 22, 2023, the number of recruitments to government jobs has increased, transparency has been brought in the recruitment system and candidates’ confidence has increased. He further said that time and deadline discipline in the recruitment process has also increased and the merit of the candidates recruited through the merit fair has also improved.Inspired by Modi’s initiative, several state governments have also started organizing similar job fairs. More than 5.5 to 6 lakh jobs have been created through job fairs in states including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Assam, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Tripura.Since its inception, around 1.2 lakh employment letters have been issued through 18 Rojra Melas across the country. The 19th Rojgar Mela was held at 47 locations with recruits from various ministries including Railways, Home, Health, Financial Services and Higher Education attending.Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi said, “I returned from a five-nation tour just two days ago. It was just a five-nation tour, but during this time, I spoke, discussed and met leaders of major companies in dozens of countries, and I felt one thing common everywhere: the world is very excited about India’s youth and India’s technological progress.” Today, the world wants to be a part of India’s development journey. India is partnering with various countries of the world. I also want the youth of my country to gain global recognition.”He also talked about how his recent five-country tour – covering the UAE, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Italy – led to conversations about the industries that will dominate in the coming years and how they will benefit Indian youth.Modi added, “Today, sectors related to clean energy, critical minerals, green hydrogen and sustainable manufacturing are also growing rapidly. Related partnerships are opening up new opportunities in new economies. Cooperation on green transition and sustainable technologies with countries like Sweden, Norway and Italy is also growing. Shipbuilding ecosystem.“India is becoming a reliable supply chain partner. The ASML-Tata deal makes India one of the few countries with this strategic partnership, which will create multiple employment opportunities and open the door to becoming a next-generation technology hub.Sweden’s cooperation in technology and AI and UAE’s cooperation in supercomputing will strengthen India’s technological prowess and also create employment opportunities.Ports, shipping and maritime infrastructure agreements have been worked out with the UAE and Norway. Shipbuilding infrastructure will reinforce the need for skilled manpower, creating more demand and job opportunities.With each partnership, Modi said, India is creating opportunities for startups and young professionals to connect with the world, develop skills, access global markets and growth opportunities.
