Vinod Suryavanshi, who came into limelight with the role of the new secretary in the web series Panchayat, recently told that even today he is not allowed to enter a temple in his village in Karnataka. Vinod Suryavanshi, in a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, said that even today there is discrimination on the basis of caste in his village. He told that the village is divided into two parts, where upper caste people live on one side and Dalit caste people live on the other side. Vinod told that even today there is a temple where we (Dalit community) are not allowed to go. We cannot go inside the temple. We have to give oil outside, offer coconut and then the priest goes inside and offers it. He said that I had gone to the temple some time ago to get my child tonsured. Thought that some things would have changed now, but it did not happen. Even today things are the same. Vinod Suryavanshi, while sharing his childhood experience, said that when he had gone to the village with his father at the age of 7-8, after eating food in the hotel, he had to wash his plates himself, even though he had paid the entire bill. Vinod also said that due to financial constraints, festivals were not a source of happiness but a cause of sadness for his family. He told that many times he saw his parents crying during festivals. The actor also claimed that he faced discrimination in the industry as well. He said that due to his dark complexion, he was rejected many times and even after being selected once, he was removed.
