Meghalaya ‘honeymoon murder’ case: Court grants bail to Sonam Raghuvanshi | India News
Shillong: A Shillong court has granted bail to Sonam Raghuvanshi, the main accused in the murder of her husband Raja Raghuvanshi, on May 23, 2025, during their honeymoon in Cherrapunji’s Sohra, citing police failure to contact her as the reason for her arrest.Additional DC (Judicial) Dashalen and Kharbateng granted bail on a surety bond of Rs 50,000 with bail of the same amount. However, the court directed Sonam Raghuvanshi to stay in Shillong and appear before it during the hearing.Soon after the court’s order, the victim’s family announced plans to approach the high court seeking cancellation of bail.Raja Raghuvanshi’s brother Bipin Raghuvanshi and mother, Uma Raghuvanshi, expressed outrage, alleging injustice.This was Sonam’s fourth bail appeal.
