New Delhi: Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr Kiren Rijiju Welcome to Monday Raghav Chadha and six other MPs who decided to leave the Aam Aadmi Party and merge with the Bharatiya Janata Party.In a post on X, Rijiju praised the parliamentary conduct of the newly inducted MPs, claiming that they “have not produced any undisciplined or unparliamentary conduct” in the House.“Hon’ble Chairman Rajya Sabha Shri CP Radhakrishnan G accepted the merger of 7 AAP MPs BJP. Now, Raghav Chadha ji, Sandeep Pathak ji, Ashok Mittal ji, Harbhajan Singh ji, Swati Maliwal ji, Rajinder Gupta ji and Vikramjit Singh Sahni ji are members of the BJP parliamentary party. For a long time, I noticed that these 7 honorable MPs did not abuse and never produced any undisciplined or parliamentary behavior,” Rijiju said.“Welcome to nation building NDA Goodbye to Prime Minister Narendra Modiji’s visionary leadership, and Tukde-Tukde INDI alliance,” he added.The AAP suffered a major setback on Friday when seven of its Rajya Sabha MPs resigned and announced their merger with the Bharatiya Janata Party, alleging that the Kejriwal-led party had deviated from its founding principles and values.“We have decided that we, two-thirds of AAP’s members in the Rajya Sabha, will exercise the provisions of the Constitution of India and merge with the BJP,” Raghav Chadha said at a press conference.With the reshuffle, the BJP’s strength in the Rajya Sabha rose from 106 to 113, while the NDA’s strength rose from 141 to 148, including seven nominated members. With more than 30 seats vacant by the end of the year, the BJP is expected to gain at least five, moving closer to a two-thirds majority of 163.Meanwhile, AAP MP Dr Sanjay Singh Officially petitioned Rajya Sabha Chairman CP Radhakrishnan to disqualify seven MPs.
