New Delhi: Days after a high-stakes election marked by record turnout, the Election Commission on Friday ordered re-polling in 15 polling stations across Magrahat West and Diamond Harbor in South 24 Parganas, declaring the April 29 poll void.The election commission said that fresh polling will be held on May 2 from 7 am to 6 pm.West Bengal recorded more than 90 percent voter turnout in both April 23 and April 29 phases.
However, incidents of violence disrupt the process, preventing it from being completely smooth.The results will be declared on May 4 as the state sees a fierce contest between the ruling Trinamool Congress and the BJP in a high-voltage battle for power in Kolkata.
