Read the special excerpts of the conversation… Question: How different is the story of ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh 2’ this time? Answer/ Ayushmann Khurrana: This is not a film with a heavy social message. The story revolves around confusion and misunderstandings. My character Prajapati Pandey is a simple person, but in some circumstances his wife starts doubting him. From there the interesting twists in the film start. Question: What does the film want to say about relationships and trust? Answer/ Mudassar Aziz: I have heard one thing at home since childhood that even Luqman Hakim did not have the cure for doubt. Sometimes what is seen is not necessarily the truth. Trust is the most important thing in relationships and this is the basic feeling of the film. Question: What should be done if there is misunderstanding or doubt in the relationship? Answer/ Ayushmann Khurrana: The most important thing is to understand that both the people are not against each other, but on the same team. If both want to manage the relationship, then every problem can be solved. But if ego comes in between, problems start increasing. Question: Why do you have special interest in making films on marriage and relationships? Answer/ Mudassar Aziz: Married life is interesting in itself. Two people with different mindsets try to live life together, so small squabbles are natural. That’s where stories and comedy come out. Question: Did you ever face a situation like love triangle during your college days? Answer/ Ayushmann Khurrana: No, nothing special happened to me. I studied in all boys school and college. Later, there were more girls in mass communication and it was there that I met my wife. Question: When did things like red flag and green flag start being understood? Answer/ Ayushmann Khurrana: Every person learns with time. In the beginning, people focus more on themselves and are not able to understand relationships completely. A person becomes mature with experience. No one is perfect from the beginning. Question: What do you consider to be the biggest green flag in a co-star? Answer/ Ayushmann Khurrana: For me, humanity matters more than talent. No matter how good an artist someone is, if his behavior is not good then the work seems incomplete. Question: As a director, do you see any red flags in actors? Answer/ Mudassar Aziz: I do not believe in looking for red flags. My job is not to find faults in the artist, but to bring his best side on screen. Question: How was the experience of working with three actresses like Vamika Gabbi, Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh in the film? Answer/ Mudassar Aziz: It was very easy and fun. All the artists were professionals. The atmosphere on the set was positive and everyone became good friends. Question: Which is the biggest excuse in relationships – “I’m on the way” or “They’re just friends”? Answer/ Ayushmann Khurrana: Both things can be true as well as false. In my case, “I am on my way” is used more, because I often get late due to shooting. Question: Which habit of your partner bothers you the most? Answer/ Ayushmann Khurrana: When the person in front asks “What are you thinking?” And the mind should really be empty. I think most boys go through this situation. Question: What is the most important thing that can make or break a relationship? Answer/ Ayushmann Khurrana: It is important to give space. A person should be given his freedom, but excessive distance can create a gap in the relationship. Balance is important. Question: If you want to take relationship advice from anyone in the industry, who will you take it from? Answer/ Ayushmann Khurrana: Every relationship is different, so no one formula can be applicable to everyone. Friends can give advice, but real relationship problems have to be solved by couples themselves. Question: What do you do to keep yourself calm? Answer/ Ayushmann Khurrana: Music relaxes me the most. Love listening to new songs and artists. Apart from this, I like reading poems. Question: Mudassar ji, how do you reduce stress? Answer/ Mudassar Aziz: I write. It is not necessary that everything reaches people, but putting your thoughts on paper gives relief. Question: How important is family comedy among action films? Answer/ Ayushmann Khurrana: Good comedy and good love story never gets old. When the whole family sits together and laughs, that is the most beautiful feeling in cinema. Question: Where did the inspiration for such family entertainer films come from? Answer/ Mudassar Aziz: I have been watching films like ‘Angoor’, ‘Chupke-Chupke’, ‘Aankhen’, ‘Welcome’ and ‘No Entry’ since childhood. These are such films which people enjoy watching again and again. An attempt has been made to provide the same kind of entertainment in ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh 2’.
