After the SIR process in Uttar Pradesh, names of 2.04 crore voters have been reduced from the list. Gorakhpur city, the constituency of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has lost the least 33,094 votes, which is among the top 5 urban areas of the state where the least decline has been recorded. On the contrary, Lucknow Cantt assembly seat of Deputy CM Brijesh Pathak is among the top 5 areas where maximum 1.47 lakh votes have been reduced. These figures have come after the warning given by the Chief Minister to the workers, in which he had expressed the fear of dire consequences if they did not work hard at the booth level.

On an average, there has been a decrease of 13.24 percent voters in every seat in the entire state. The analysis shows that compared to the Bharatiya Janata Party Samajwadi Party Votes were less on the seats.

On an average, votes in BJP’s urban seats decreased by 18.11 percent, while in SP’s urban seats this figure was 16.36 percent.

Major reshuffle on the seats of veteran leaders

The difference between the victory margin of the leaders and the votes lost is quite scary. Rajeshwar Singh had won from Sarojini Nagar seat of Lucknow by 56 thousand votes, but there was a reduction of 1.42 lakh voters. Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana won by 82 thousand and 90 thousand votes were lost. Raja Bhaiya’s seat in Kunda was reduced by 55 thousand votes, while his victory margin was only 30 thousand. Similarly, 56 thousand votes have decreased on Aditi Singh’s seat in Rae Bareli.

According to SIR data, vote loss on 102 seats of SP ranged from 26 thousand to 1.07 lakh, while on 257 seats of BJP it ranged from 26 thousand to 3.16 lakh. In Muslim-dominated Amroha city (SP seat), the least number of votes were reduced by 26,233, while in BJP’s Sahibabad seat, the maximum number of votes was reduced by 3,16,484. In rural areas the difference between the two parties is only around one percent.

Position of allies and Yogi’s model

From the point of view of political parties, there has been a decrease of 27 thousand to 72 thousand votes on Apna Dal seats, 28 thousand to 50 thousand votes on SubhaSP seats and 30 thousand to 59 thousand votes on Nishad Party seats. There has also been a decrease of 27 thousand to 48 thousand votes on RLD seats. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Apart from this, no big leader has been able to save his area completely.
