Panji: The Times of India emerged with multiple honors at the 57th edition of the ABBY Awards held in Goa from May 20 to May 22, reaffirming the power of print-led storytelling and purpose-driven campaigns in a rapidly evolving media landscape. The festival received over 4,000 entries from over 300 participating organizations spanning the creative, media and publishing disciplines.TOI Its campaign ‘Systematic Intelligence Plan’ won gold in print: corporate, media, entertainment and other categories. Drawing on the familiarity of SIPs or Systematic Investment Plans among the young audience, the campaign positions newspaper reading as a daily investment for sharp thinking and informed decision-making. Through impactful print creative and visual metaphors, the campaign tackled issues such as doomscrolling, fake news and echo chambers, while advocating conscious media consumption over endless scrolling.Publisher ABBY category for best marketing of a printed newspaper/edition, TOI Silver was won by ‘Ami Calcutta, Amar Para’. The campaign celebrated Kolkata’s neighborhood culture by spotlighting the city’s paras – the hyperlocal communities that define its social and cultural identity. Combining evocative print storytelling with digital engagement, on-ground activation and community participation, the initiative encouraged Kolkatans to reconnect with the story and spirit of their own neighbourhood.TOI Also won bronze in the Sustainable Development Goals ABBY category for diversity, equality and inclusion, including ‘cancel patriarchy’.
