Slow start of ‘Do Deewane Shehr Mein’ and ‘Assi’: Less earnings than ‘O Romeo’ on the eighth day; Know the collection of films

Mrunal Thakur and Siddhant Chaturvedi starrer film ‘Do Deewane Shehr Mein’ and Taapsee Pannu’s film ‘Assi’ were released in theaters on Friday, but could not perform satisfactorily at the box office on the very first day. While ‘Do Deewane Shehr Mein’ could earn Rs 1.25 crore, ‘Assi’ opened with only Rs 1 crore. The first day earnings of both the films were less than the eighth day collection of Rs 2.2 crore of ‘O Romeo’ which was released on February 13. Occupancy of ‘Do Deewane Shehr Mein’ According to SACNILC report, on the first day of ‘Do Deewane Shehr Mein’ the occupancy of the film in the morning shows was 55.77%, which decreased to 8.48% in the afternoon and reached 14.96% at night. The film has been presented as an imperfect love story, but its impact on the opening day was limited. Occupancy of ‘Assi’ Directed by Anubhav Sinha, ‘Assi’ is a courtroom drama, in which the story of a rape case is shown. The occupancy of the film was 3.88% in the morning, 7.24% in the afternoon and 6.92% in the evening. Interestingly, the film performed better in Chennai, where the occupancy reached around 20%. There was a decline in the earnings of ‘O Romeo’, while the earnings of Shahid Kapoor and Trupti Dimri starrer ‘O Romeo’ also declined. According to Sacknilk, the film earned Rs 2.2 crore on the second Friday i.e. the eighth day, which is the lowest collection till date. Its net collection across the country has been Rs 49.35 crore and gross Rs 58.15 crore. Worldwide collection is said to be Rs 75.15 crore, which includes Rs 17 crore from overseas market. ‘Tu Ya Main’ earned Rs 20 lakh. The condition of Shanaya Kapoor, Adarsh Gaurav and Parul Gulati’s film ‘Tu Ya Main’ was also weak. The film had earned Rs 60 lakh on the opening day. Its earning on the eighth day was Rs 20 lakh. With this, its total collection across the country has reached Rs 4.65 crore.
