TV actress Rubina Dilaik is going to make a comeback once again in the TV show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’. Rubina had earlier participated in the 12th season of the show. Now she will once again be seen in season 15 of ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’. In a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, Rubina told that after becoming a mother, both her life and thinking have changed. In the conversation, Rubina also talked about her initial struggle in the industry, people’s judgment, the perception of strong women and her fears. Question: You have always been seen as a strong, bold and tough personality. Does this image also have pressure? Answer: If I start thinking about what people are expecting from me, that pressure can spoil my game. I think you just have to understand your place and play with that respect. If I stunt with the burden of expectation, it will trouble me more. Therefore, it is important to keep that pressure away from yourself as much as possible. Question: Is being competitive important for this show? Answer: Absolutely. There is a competitive spirit inside every person. Some compete with themselves, some with others. When you go to such shows, you want to show your best physical and mental abilities. If you don’t have competitiveness, you will probably fall flat somewhere. Question: Some people have the perception that women become weak after becoming mothers, how do you see this? Answer: I think motherhood is not a weakness, but a great strength. People say that now perhaps you will not have the same stamina or strength as before, but the same things give me more motivation to prove myself. Strength is not just physical, mental strength and resilience also matter a lot and this strength increases even more in a mother. Question: How do you look at fear? Answer: Fear determines how strong you are. Every person is fighting with some fear in life. The question is not whether there is fear or not, the question is whether you allow fear to dominate you or overcome that fear yourself. Question: What was the biggest fear in the initial stages of the industry? Answer: I come from a village and a very conservative environment. At that time this industry was not looked upon very favorably. When I came to Mumbai for the first time, there was a lot of fear inside me. Studies, career, establishing myself in a new city… everything was scary, but perhaps trying to overcome every fear made me stronger. Question: What was your biggest fear while doing ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ for the first time? Answer: When you jump from 80 feet height for the first time in your life or perform stunts in the sea, then you understand what fear is. Water is water, whether in a glass or in the ocean, but its vastness determines your fear. Throughout that season I was constantly battling my fears. Question: Will the experience this time be different from before? Answer: Absolutely. A lot has changed after becoming a mother. I haven’t tested myself that way in the last four years. Therefore, I myself do not know whether this time I will be able to face my fear in the same way or not. But this journey is going to be very different for me. Question: Women who are strong and opinionated are often judged. Have you felt this too? Answer: Yes, but this is my way of living my life. If I change myself just to please people, then I’m not living my true life. God has made every person different. If I give up my uniqueness and start fitting into people’s expectations, I will not be authentic. Yes, many people get angry with you for doing this, but it does not mean that you should change yourself. Question: When you got the offer of ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ again, what was your first reaction? Answer: I initially refused because it is a very long international schedule and now I have daughters. It was not easy to leave them and go so far. For about three months I kept thinking whether to do it or not, but then Abhinav said, ‘Rubina, I will not get this opportunity again. We will handle everything. Then I realized that I have a very strong support system and I can do this. Question: How do you look at victory and defeat now? Answer: Now the meaning of victory and defeat has changed for me. Now I wonder what our choices will teach our daughters. We are their first teachers. That’s why we don’t want to teach them that only winning is important. We want to teach them that it is more important to try and show courage. Question: What do you think about this time’s contestants? Answer: Everyone has brought a different energy with them. Avika Gor is very strong. I have spent a lot of time with Jasmine Bhasin in Bigg Boss and she is a very nice person. Karan Wahi and Ritwik Dhanjani are doing this show for the third time, so they have different experience. Whereas young contestants like Ruhanika Dhawan and Shagun Sharma will have a different perspective. I love observing people and understanding their body language. Therefore this journey will be very interesting for me.
