Punjabi singer shot in car, body found in canal
LUDHIANA: Punjabi singer Yashinder Kaur alias Inder Kaur, 29, was found murdered in Ludhiana on Tuesday, six days after she was kidnapped at gunpoint, Payal Dhawan reports. The suspect is an alleged ‘suitor’ who lives in Canada and is believed to have come to India via Nepal to kill her and returned on May 13, the night she was killed. His body was found in Nilan canal. Jamalpur SHO Dalveer Singh said, “One km away, we found his car. It had blood stains. Preliminary investigations suggest he was shot in the car and then dumped in the canal.” He was killed within hours of the abduction, police said.Singer’s death: Water may have washed away the clue Some evidence of Punjabi singer Yashinder Kaur’s murder case may have been washed away. The Jamalpur police have lodged an FIR against Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha, a friend of the Mogar woman who lives in Canada. His father Pritam Singh and a friend Karamjit Singh have been arrested. Jashindar’s brother Jyotinder told the police that his sister went to buy groceries from home in her car on May 13 but did not return. They learn that someone has kidnapped her at gunpoint and go to the police. Police registered an FIR for kidnapping and added charges of murder after the body was found.
