The IAF incident on the Pune runway temporarily halted operations at the airport

New Delhi: An incident involving an Indian Air Force (IAF) plane on the Pune runway on Friday temporarily halted operations at the airport. The IAF, however, clarified that the airmen are safe.In a post on social media platform X, the IAF said, “The Pune runway is temporarily unavailable due to an incident involving an IAF aircraft. The aircrew is safe, and there is no damage to civilian property. Efforts are underway to reopen the runway and resume normal operations at the earliest.”Details of the incident were not immediately available. However, standard safety protocols were put in place after the incident to ensure there was no risk to personnel or infrastructure. Airport authorities are coordinating with the IAF to restore runway operations at the earliest.Pune Airport, which serves both civil and military operations, is one of the major aviation hubs in Maharashtra. Any disruption to runway availability usually affects multiple arrivals and departures during peak hours.
