Speaking to reporters, Mehrotra said, “His body was brought for post-mortem. I wanted to know the cause of his post-mortem. The doctor said it was not a natural death. It was a serious death. He said the cause of his death could be poison.”Claiming that Pratik Yadav had injury marks on his body, Mehrotra added, “There were injury marks on his body. They are demanding that the cause of death of Pratik Yadav should be investigated.” He had his own gym. He used to exercise in the gym. He was completely healthy. So how did he suddenly die? He died before being brought to the hospital.”Pratik Yadav, Samajwadi Party chief’s half-brother Akhilesh Yadav and husband of BJP leader Aparna Yadav, died at the age of 38 in Lucknow on Wednesday morning.When he was brought to the civil hospital around 6 am, the doctor on duty declared him brought dead. Prateek was the son of late Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav’s second wife Sadhana Gupta. Despite belonging to one of Uttar Pradesh’s most prominent political families, he largely stayed away from active politics and concentrated on business and fitness ventures.He ran a well-known gym ‘The Fitness Planet’ in Lucknow and was known for maintaining an active fitness-oriented lifestyle. He studied at the University of Leeds before returning to India for business interests.Soon after the news of his death, various political leaders of the party expressed their grief and condolences.In a post on X, Akhilesh Yadav wrote, “Death of Shri Pratik Yadav ji is very sad! May God rest his soul in peace. Humble respect!”The Samajwadi Party also mourned his death, saying, “Death of Prateek Yadav is deeply saddened. May God rest his soul in peace.”Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath termed the death as ‘extremely heartbreaking’ and offered his condolences to the bereaved family.In a post on X, Adityanath said, “Extremely heartbreaking death of Pratik Yadav, son of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and husband of Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission Vice-Chairperson Aparna Yadav. My condolences to the bereaved family.”Prateek Yadav was also in the news earlier this year after he openly talked about marital problems with his wife Aparna Yadav on social media.In a post shared on her Instagram account, she accused Aparna of ruining her relationship with family members and said she wants to seek a divorce.
