BJP MLA from Charkhari in Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh, Brij Bhushan Rajput narrowly escaped a horrific road accident late on Wednesday night. The MLA was returning from a wedding ceremony in Hamirpur when an uncontrolled dumper collided with his convoy. The MLA escaped safely, but his escort vehicle was hit hard, injuring three security personnel. After the incident, the MLA and his father, former MP Gangacharan Rajput, refused to accept it as a mere accident and called it a conspiracy to commit murder.
The accident happened at 12:30 in the night

MLA Brij Bhushan Rajput was returning from Hamirpur after attending a wedding ceremony. His convoy had just reached near Sankat Mochan Temple when a dumper laden with bananas coming from the front suddenly moved towards them. It was told that the dumper tried to hit the MLA’s car. However, the driver of the MLA showed wisdom in time and took the car down the road into Khanti. Due to this the MLA was saved safely.
But the uncontrolled dumper collided with the Escort Scorpio running behind. The collision was so severe that the front part of the Scorpio was completely damaged. In this accident, three security personnel including the MLA’s gunner and driver were injured. All the injured were sent to the hospital for treatment. After the accident, the dumper driver was trying to run away from the spot, but the local people chased him and caught the Maharashtra number dumper and its driver.
Father said, this is not an accident, a conspiracy to murder
After the incident, MLA’s father and former MP Gangacharan Rajput called it a serious conspiracy. He said that this was not an ordinary road accident, but a deliberate attempt to murder his son. He alleged that for the last two months he had been writing letters to the Chief Minister, State President and DGP informing them about the threat to his son’s life.

Gangacharan Rajput claimed that the threat has also been mentioned in the reports of IB and LIU. He said that MLAs who pose no threat have been given Y and Z category security, but his son, who raised his voice against public interest and corruption, was not given adequate security. He said that if any untoward incident happens to any member of his family, it will be the responsibility of the government. He also demanded a SIT investigation into the entire matter.
MLA claimed to have received threats
BJP MLA Brij Bhushan Rajput also said that he was continuously receiving death threats after raising his voice against the corrupt contractors of the Jal Shakti Department. Telling another important thing, he said that usually the escort vehicle in his convoy moves in front, but on Wednesday night he suddenly asked the escort vehicle to move behind.
The MLA suspects that the dumper driver mistook his car for his car and hit the escort vehicle behind him. After the incident, the police have taken the accused dumper driver into custody. The police is investigating the entire matter and all aspects of the accident are being investigated. At present, the police is trying to find out whether it was just a road accident or there is some conspiracy angle behind it. The investigation of the matter is ongoing.
