Kajol said that Aamir’s production company has selected the best films from ‘Lagaan’ till now, which shows his excellent taste. After this, Kajol jokingly said that Aamir has a good understanding of films as well as women. On which the actor was seen smiling. Recalling Aamir’s early days, Juhi said, “Before becoming AKP, he was just AK.” He said that Aamir’s first film was with him. The actress jokingly said, “Look where everyone who worked with me has reached.” Aamir Khan’s film ‘Lagaan’ is counted among the most famous films of Indian cinema. This film, released in 2001, was directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar, while Aamir Khan was its main lead and co-producer. The story of the film is set in Champaner village during the British rule. A young man named Bhuvan accepts the cricket challenge of British officer Captain Russell to help the villagers suffering from drought and heavy taxes. The condition is that in case of victory, three years’ tax will be waived, whereas in case of loss, it will have to be paid three times. Apart from Aamir Khan, Gracy Singh, Paul Blackthorne and Rachel Shelley played important roles in the film. A.R. Rahman’s music and Javed Akhtar’s songs also became quite popular. ‘Lagaan’ was nominated in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the Oscars. Made with a budget of around Rs 25 crore, this film had earned more than Rs 65 crore worldwide.
