New Delhi: Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee Prime Minister said on Monday Narendra Modi“Drama” was the unscheduled stop to buy “Jhalmuri” during the election campaign.His comments came a day after Prime Minister Modi bought “jhalmuri”, a popular Bengali street food made with puffed rice, green chillies and other spices, during his campaign in Jhargram.“It’s all drama. How come a camera was present when the PM made an unscheduled stop during the campaign? The whole episode was scripted. He was seen carrying Rs 10 notes in his pocket. Is it believable?” Banerjee said without naming PM Modi, Dr.D Trinamool Congress The (TMC) supremo was addressing an election rally at Murarai Assembly constituency in Birbhum district.On Sunday, after concluding his speech in Jhargram, PM Modi stood up at a stall and said, “Bhai, Amra Apna Jhalmuri Khelo (Brother, give us your Jhalmuri).”While the vendor was preparing the snacks, PM Modi struck up a brief conversation, asking, “Kitne Ka Hota Hai Jhalmuri (How much does it cost?”). The Prime Minister then reached into his Nehru jacket pocket to pay.The seller asked, “Do you eat onions?” To which the Prime Minister replied, “Haan, payaz khate hai. Dimag na khate bas (Yes, I eat onions. But I don’t like annoying people).”The first phase of polling in 152 constituencies will be held in West Bengal on Thursday. The second and final phase for the remaining 142 seats is scheduled for April 29.Counting of votes will be done on May 4.(PTI Input)
