New Delhi: A major power outage occurred in Gurugram on Thursday after a fire broke out in the main transformer of a 220 kVA power station in Sector-72, disrupting power supply to various parts of the city. Sandeep Chugh, PRO, South Haryana Bijli Bitran Nigam (DHBVN), Gurugram, said, “A power outage occurred in Gurugram after a fire broke out in the main transformer of the 220 kVA power station in Sector-72, causing power outage in several areas of the city.” According to officials, seven power substations were affected, resulting in outages in sectors 15, 38, 44, 46, 52, 56 and Maruti 66 KVA power house. Sectors 38 to 57, including Sector 15 Part-1, Part-2 and Sector 18, remain without power. The disruption also affected Rapid Metro services, which remained suspended for over an hour. Thousands of commuters use the metro network every day.Awaiting more details.
