The Election Commission has transferred 4 policemen to 3 police stations in Kolkata

Kolkata Police on Saturday issued a new transfer and posting order involving four inspectors in three police stations in the city. In an official communication, the KP Commissioner informed the Chief Electoral Officer of Bengal that Special Branch Inspector Gautam Das has been appointed as Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kalighat Police Station. South Division Inspector Subrata Pandey has been transferred as OC of Alipore PS. In another reshuffle, Uttam K Paik, Inspector of Special Branch has been posted as Additional OC, Kalighat PS. Inspector Chameli Mukherjee working as Additional OC in Alipore PS has been transferred as OC to Ultadanga Women PS. The EC announced its decision to appoint 11 more police observers for the second phase of elections on April 29 when polling will be held in 142 constituencies. Of the new 11 police observers, three are for South 24 Parganas, two for North 24 Parganas and one each for Hooghly, Nadia, East Burdwan, Howrah, Kolkata South and Kolkata North.
