Rajnath Singh The German invited industry to co-produce with India, especially in the field of specialized technologies, as he stressed the need to build partnerships based on reliability and shared interests, calling them essential in the current changing geopolitical alignment, supply chain disruptions and rapid technological change.Addressing German defense industry leaders at a defense investor conference in Munich, Rajnath said Indian companies are keen to engage with German companies for co-development and co-production in various areas including advanced radar and sensor technology, multi-sensor, AI-enabled UAVs, sonobuoys and high-power low-frequency underwater transmitters.“India offers an expansive market, skilled workforce and thriving industrial ecosystem with a commitment to stability, predictability and rule of law. This is not a short-term opportunity, but a long-term strategic proposition,” he added, adding, “India’s pursuit of self-reliance is not an internal vision, we see it as an ability to design, develop and manufacture with trusted partners.”Rearmament points to significant untapped potential under Europe and Self-reliant India On the initiative, Rajnath said, “We are moving towards a model where India is not just a buyer of defense equipment, but a partner in design, development and production. This shift creates new opportunities for global industry. In today’s interconnected and interdependent world, partnerships are not optional, they are essential.”
