'ABVP built on strong organizational principles': RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosable at Yashwantrao Kelkar's centenary function

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) General Secretary Dattatreya Hosable on Sunday attended a program titled “Priya Kelkar Ji” organized to mark the birth centenary of the organization’s architect and former national president Yashwant Rao Kelkar. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), an RSS-affiliated student body.The event was organized by ABVP’s Delhi unit at the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Civic Center in the national capital.Addressing the gathering, Hosable said, “Kelkar G provided the organizational principles on which the strong foundation of the ABVP was built. He ensured that the ABVP was not limited to agitation, but was directed towards constructive work, representation and nation building.”

He added, “Kelkar G presented an ideal model of organizational life. He was a personality who brought everyone together without any bitterness or bitterness. His life has been an eternal source of inspiration for the workers.”During the event, a performance troupe led by Milind Bhadag from Pune presented “Priya Kelkar Ji” depicting the late ABVP president’s life, ideas and organizational approach.

Several current and former ABVP office bearers including national president Raghuraj Kishore Tiwari were also present. Senior RSS members, Vice-Chancellors, Registrars and professors of various universities, Speaker of the Delhi Assembly, Ministers of the Delhi Government, workers of other Sangh-affiliated organizations and a large number of students were present on the occasion.Yashwantrao Kelkar was born on 25 April 1925 in Pandharpur (Solapur), Maharashtra. He became an RSS preacher in 1945. In 1955, he started studying English at the National College and started working in the ABVP following the instructions of the Sangh.
