CCTV footage of the horrific LPG gas tanker fire incident that took place on June 26 in Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh has surfaced. It is clearly visible in the video that the speeding tanker hits the divider. After the collision, gas starts leaking and within a few moments the gas spreads all around. After this, a massive fire breaks out in the tanker and the entire area is engulfed in flames.
The number of deaths in this tragic accident has now increased to four. Two toll employees died during treatment. Two other employees are still fighting between life and death at Swaroop Rani Nehru (SRN) Hospital in Prayagraj.
The police have taken the bodies of the deceased into their custody and sent them for post-mortem. Further action is underway in the case.
The driver died on the spot
According to the information, at around 7 am on June 26, a tanker full of LPG gas going from Kanpur to Varanasi reached near Kokhraj toll plaza. During this time he suddenly lost control and collided with the divider.
The collision was so severe that gas started leaking from the tanker. Within a few minutes the tanker became a ball of fire and the surrounding area also got engulfed by it.
In the accident, tanker driver Dharmendra Dwivedi could not come out of the cabin and was burnt alive on the spot. Police had identified him as a resident of Mirzapur.

Two more toll employees died during treatment
Five toll plaza employees were seriously burnt in the accident. Everyone was admitted to SRN Hospital in Prayagraj for treatment.
Toll employee Alok Singh died during treatment on the second day of the incident. After this, Hiramani Singh, Atul Kumar Mishra, Krishnapal Maurya and Anil were undergoing treatment.
Now, during treatment, Hiramani Singh, resident of Rae Bareli and Krishnapal Maurya, resident of Lalitpur, have also died. Thus, four people have died in the accident so far, while the treatment of Atul Kumar Mishra and Anil is still going on.
Police station in-charge said – treatment of two injured continues
Kokhraj police station in-charge Chandra Bhushan Maurya said that two more injured have died during treatment. So far four people have lost their lives in this accident.
He said that the two injured employees are still undergoing treatment in the hospital and their condition is being constantly monitored.
Police say that all necessary legal action is being taken in the matter. The CCTV footage that emerged has also been made a part of the investigation, so that the entire incident of the accident can be technically analyzed.
