This time the web series ‘Gram Chikitsalay Season 2’ will not only show the story of the village and the health system, but will also show the system, trust and change. In conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, Amol Parashar, Akanksha Ranjan Kapoor and Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirahua talked about their characters, challenges of the village and the new twist of the season. Amol said that Prabhat will try to strike a balance between his principles and the ground reality. Akanksha talked about women’s health and the need for change. Nirahua explained the reality of the village and the importance of awareness. Question: After the success of the first season, how much responsibility increased in Season 2? Answer/Amol Parashar: When a season becomes a hit, the biggest responsibility rests on the writer and director, because they have to keep the story new and take it forward by connecting it with the old season. The challenge for us is to capture the body language, thinking and style of the character of the first season and play it in a better way. Question: What preparation did you do to understand the village environment and your character? Answer/Aspiration Ranjan Kapoor: More preparation had to be done in Season 1, but by Season 2 the character was understood. The director helped in keeping the dialogues, style of speaking and character down to earth. The village environment was not new to me because my father is from Haryana. Question: What new will the audience get to see this time? Answer/Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirahua: I was a viewer of the first season and I liked it very much. This time I have brought a little twist in the story. Behind the problems of the village, it is not just the people visible in front, many times the people sitting behind the curtain are also controlling things. This is the interesting part of this season. Question: What change will be seen in the relationship between Prabhat and Gargi? Answer/Amol Parashar: Now both of them are not just hi-hello friends. They understand each other better, so they argue and help. Like real life friendship, many colors will be seen in this relationship too. Question: If in real life you have to go to the village as a doctor, what will you do? Answer/Aspiration Ranjan Kapoor: I would like to work on women’s health, mental health and education. I feel that a lot of change is still needed in this direction in the villages. Question: How much conflict will be seen between principle and situation in the show? Answer/Amol Parashar: Prabhat is a person who does not compromise with his principles. In the first season, he learned that education and ability alone are not enough, one also has to win people’s trust. This time he will try to change his ways, but will not give up his principles. This creates his strength and also his difficulties. Question: Will there be a conflict between the system and the doctor this time? Answer/Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirahua: Many times in villages where good doctors are not available, quacks are seen helping people. But the problem starts when the line between helpful and wrong begins to blur. This conflict has been shown in this season. Question: Have you seen such people in real life who are working for the society after good education? Answer/Amol Parashar: Yes, I have seen many such people. Some people who studied with me left big jobs and chose to work for the society. One of my juniors started working for farmers and is helping them through technology. There are many such people, but they do not come into much discussion. Question: Have you also met such people who work for the society without any discussion? Answer/Aspiration Ranjan Kapoor: I have met many people working for animals. Many people work for the society along with their job. My mother also runs an NGO, which helps rape and acid attack survivors. I think there is a lot of humanity in the world, it is just less discussed. Question: Did you have any experience with any village doctor or quack doctor in your childhood? Answer/Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirahua: I still remember an incident from my childhood. A small child was being injected and the medicine came out. When the family asked, the doctor said that as much as she has fallen, she will also benefit. Such experiences show how dangerous treatment can be without correct information. Question: Is there any change in the health system of villages today? Answer/Aspiration Ranjan Kapoor: Recently I got a chance to go to a government hospital. I was a little scared, but it was nice to see the cleanliness, order and behavior of the doctors there. The whole experience was organic and changed my thinking. Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirahua: Today there has been a lot of change in the villages. Awareness is increasing and such shows help in conveying important things to the people.
