‘Stress-free, zero-error’ exams in focus for NTA, says Pradhan | India News
New Delhi: Signaling next phase of reforms by National Testing Agency, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan The focus will be on developing “stress-free testing” besides developing a global-standard SOP for conducting “zero defect testing”, told TOI.“This (stress free test) is the biggest challenge ahead NTAAnd we are working towards a global benchmark system,” Pradhan said.The minister said the organization currently conducts examinations for more than one crore candidates a year and “has to face challenges and progress from experience so far”. “With more than one crore candidates appearing in the NTA exam, we must learn from the experience, bridge the gap and strengthen the system for fair, transparent and reliable evaluation,” he said.The next step follows the recommendation of a high-level committee chaired by former ISRO chief K Radhakrishnan, formed in June 2024 after multiple hurdles in national-level entrance exams. The panel submitted a set of recommendations on strengthening examination security, institutional restructuring, and improving transparency in evaluation and grievance redressal.“The reforms are driven by expert recommendations and are aimed at building a robust, technology-driven and accountable testing ecosystem,” the minister said.The ministry has also moved to standardize test protocols across formats.
