Joshi emphasized that while AI can do many things, what it does is based on previously available knowledge and data.
“AI is trained on human data. AI shouldn’t be called artificial – what it does is take empirical data and transform it into something. So it’s not artificial. It’s someone’s first-hand data,” he said, stressing that the technology draws from existing human expressions rather than acting independently.Joshi also discusses the impact of AI on the creative process and related outcomes. “Artificial intelligence has everything it’s been told, but what about the things it hasn’t been told,” he said, highlighting the limitations of systems that rely only on past data. For Joshi, true creativity lies in delving into the unexplored—an area where human imagination has an advantage.“Let’s not take AI lightly. It’s not just technology. It’s definitely redefining the way we use a lot of things,” he said, warning against complacency. He said that while AI can replicate patterns and optimize processes, human superiority often comes from breaking pre-existing molds. “Every time a human does something exceptional, he breaks a mold. AI builds within the mold,” he adds.Joshi also addressed the ethical dilemmas that rapid technological progress creates. “AI will do what it needs to do, hyperpersonalization, moment marketing, a lot of things. But where we draw the line — that’s going to be determined by our quality system, education, ethical framework. That’s where we have to invest.” He emphasized that society must focus not only on advancing technology but also on strengthening the moral and educational foundations that guide its use.Joshi points out that while AI is reshaping art and creative processes, the responsibility to define its boundaries and preserve originality ultimately rests with human values and perspectives.
