3 people shot dead in dispute over birthday cake cutting in Uttar Pradesh

Meerut: Jitendra Kumar, a private contractor based in Bulandshahr, opened fire on his guests at his birthday party when they put cake on his face against his will, killing three members of a family. Kumar is absconding. A triple murder took place inside a gym in Khurja area of ​​the district on Saturday night. Among those present were the local councillor’s cousin, Amardeep Saini (32), brother Manish Saini (30), and nephew Akash Saini (19). Around 11 pm, a heated argument broke out between Kumar and Amardeep over the spilling of the cake. The contractor left and returned with the pistol. “Amardeep and Manish were shot at close range and Akash, who tried to escape, was chased and shot,” said SP (Rural) Antriksha Jain. Kumar took off the CCTV digital video recorder before fleeing, police said. Police were informed around midnight that three people had been hit by “bullets”. They were taken to a nearby private hospital where doctors declared them brought dead. “CCTV footage from other areas is being scanned. An FIR has been registered against 10 people, including Kumar under BNS Dhara, in connection with the murder. Gym owner Rupesh Kumar and two others were arrested on Sunday,” Jain said, adding “liquor bottles and beer cans were found at the spot”. Manish and Amardeep were farmers and Akash was looking for a job. Manish is survived by a two-year-old daughter, while Amardeep is survived by a five-year-old son and a newborn daughter.
