In Kutch, Gujarat, the Forest Department freed more than 400 hectares of forest land from encroachment by running an anti-encroachment campaign. Action was taken against long-running farming in reserved forest areas. The department also announced plans for tree plantation in the future. The Forest Department has clarified that action will continue as per rules in cases of illegal encroachment on forest and government land.
