He told that a few days ago he had started a conversation on WhatsApp with a person named Hidayatullah. He did not know that the person sitting behind the screen was none other than Mansoor Ahmed, a resident of Delhi.

Mansoor cleverly made himself trustworthy like Iqra’s brother. Gradually he gathered complete information about the family and then started a dangerous game with his girlfriend Rosie.

The fraud planning came out of the film script

Rosie and Mansoor prepared fake IDs and started calling themselves CBI officers and sometimes Customs officers. They would trap people through social media, obtain their personal information and then blackmail them by threatening them.

Iqra and her family were also targeted in the same way. Posing as fake officers, both of them threatened him and gradually cheated him of Rs 5 lakh. When the pressure of fraud increased, Iqra got worried and sought help from the police.

As soon as the complaint was received, the police swung into action and a case was registered under sections 318 (4), 319, 338, 336 and 340 of the BNS. After this, with the help of surveillance, the search for this loving couple started.

Disclosure of arrest and recovery

Finally, on Sunday, the police arrested this fraud lover couple. During the search, the police recovered three debit cards, three mobile phones, a fake ID, a fake search warrant, a passbook and cash worth about Rs 2 lakh.

During interrogation, Rosie and Mansoor made shocking revelations. He told that he used to befriend innocent people on social media and used to scare them by collecting their personal information.

Both of them admitted that till now they have made about 20 people their victims and have defrauded several lakhs of rupees.

The entire conspiracy came to light in the police investigation

SSP Sanjay Kumar Verma said that continuous action is being taken in cases of cyber fraud. After Iqra’s complaint, a joint team of SPRA, CO Budhana, Shahpur police station, surveillance and SOG was formed.

Investigation revealed that Mansoor Ahmed is originally a resident of Bijnor but used to work in a salon in Delhi. Rosie’s father is Taylor. Both were educated but out of greed for easy money they took to the path of crime.

Police said that the accused used to befriend people through WhatsApp and Facebook, collect information about their earnings, taxes and family and then apply pressure by posing as CBI officers.

Learned the method of crime from films

During interrogation, both of them admitted that they learned this method by taking inspiration from films and TV serials. They even used to make fake search warrants like the characters in the films.

Both of them told that they deliberately targeted people who would get scared easily and give money. Especially by befriending women, their feelings were taken advantage of.

The police have started the process of sending both of them to jail and a reward of Rs 15,000 has also been given to the team for immediate action. The boyfriend and girlfriend admitted that they did all this out of greed for money and are each other’s boyfriend-girlfriend.
