There was a huge uproar in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. Farmers demanding purchase of moong crop at MSP broke several police barricades and reached Roshanpura intersection, just one kilometer from the official residence of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. Before reaching Roshanpura, the protesters demonstrated outside the residence of Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, while the Madhya Pradesh government was holding talks with representatives of the protesters.
The marchers, led by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha and 18 other farmer organizations, crossed several layers of barricades on Narmadapuram Road, leading to a tense standoff with the police.
Heavy security forces were deployed at the Roshanpura intersection, where the protesters eventually camped, while talks continued at the state secretariat. Although there were repeated clashes between farmers and police and windows of some buses were damaged, authorities refrained from using force. Watch a VIDEO:-

Solution will emerge through dialogue, public should not face problems: CM
In an effort to mitigate the crisis, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced a four-member committee to hold talks with farmer representatives.
CM Yadav said, “The government has always stood with the farmers and is ready to consider positive suggestions. At the same time, both sides should ensure that the public is not inconvenienced. We will resolve the issue through dialogue.”
He expressed hope that the Indian Farmers Organization and other organizations would resolve the issue through talks, and said that the government’s commitment towards public welfare also includes the welfare of farmers.
Despite the government’s approach, some protesters intensified the movement by demonstrating half naked on Narmadapuram Road. The protest also received support from local residents, including many members of ‘Generation Z’.
Bati-chokha made on the road, ‘Sadbhudhi Yagya’ performed
To give edge to the movement, farmers adopted unique methods of protest. Anti-government slogans were raised by standing half naked on Narmadapuram Road. The protesters performed ‘Sadbhudhi Yagya’ and cooked Bati-Chokha on the roadside.
Even after the first round of talks between state Agriculture Minister Aidal Singh Kanshana and farmer leaders ended without any result on Tuesday night, there were no signs of the agitation slowing down.
The farmers remained on the road throughout the night, causing huge traffic jams and the police had to divert the travelers. Protestors marching towards the Chief Minister’s residence on Tuesday night were stopped near Veer Savarkar Setu, while schools remained closed in the surrounding areas on Wednesday morning.
Center-State correspondence intensifies after demonstration at Shivraj’s house
Meanwhile, Kanshana wrote a letter to Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan demanding to increase the purchase limit of summer moong to provide better returns to the farmers.
Reacting after protesters gathered outside his residence, Shivraj Singh Chouhan wrote a letter to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav saying the Center has already announced Rs. Madhya Pradesh For this, the purchase of summer moong up to 4 lakh 54 thousand 580 tonnes has been approved.
He said that this is 87 percent of the total 5 lakh 23 thousand 243 tonnes approved for purchase across the country under the PM-AASHA scheme, which is the highest allocation given to any state. According to a news agency, a close associate of Chauhan shared this letter with the media.
CM Chauhan also made it clear that the Center does not set procurement targets for the states. He said that under the PM-AASHA guidelines, procurement is allowed up to 25 per cent of the estimated production, and any procurement beyond that limit will have to be made by the state government.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that according to the data available with the Center till July 29, Madhya Pradesh has so far procured about 60,000 tonnes of summer moong. He urged the state government to expedite the procurement in the larger interest of the farmers. Therefore, the state government should provide relief to the farmers by rapidly purchasing the entire sanctioned quota of moong.
