पाकिस्तान-सऊदी रक्षा समझौते पर बड़ा खुलासा, ‘एकतरफा’ है डील, बदले में कोई गारंटी नहीं – pakistan saudi arab defense agreement one sided deal rises concerns ntc drmt
There have been shocking revelations regarding the decades-old defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. A leaked document has revealed that military responsibilities between the two countries are not equal. According to the terms of the agreement, Pakistan is obliged to send its army for the defense of Saudi Arabia, but there does not seem to be any such commitment from Saudi Arabia’s side to Pakistan.
The leaked documents in ‘Drop Site’ report show that this defense agreement is ‘one-sided’. If Saudi Arabia requests, Pakistanis committed to sending its military troops to defend Saudi Arabia.
Although there is nothing clearly written in this agreement that saudi arabia forces to protect Pakistan in times of crisis.
The important thing is that this agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia has become stricter with time. In 1982, both the countries signed a confidential agreement for the first time. A military cooperation agreement was signed in 2005, which was limited to training and equipment.

Then the agreement was amended in 2021-2024 under which the responsibility of direct military defense from Pakistan’s side was included. This cooperation was further strengthened amid regional tensions in 2025 (SMDA).
Pakistan riding on two boats
If reports are to be believed iran-Amidst the war between America and Israel, Pakistan has deployed its aircraft and military equipment in Saudi Arabia. This situation is very difficult for Pakistan, because on one hand Islamabad is fulfilling its military commitment to Saudi, and on the other hand it is also trying to mediate between America and Iran.
There has been a lot of debate within Pakistan regarding this agreement. There is concern among the public that Pakistan may be dragged into some foreign war. The question is arising whether Pakistan’s responsibility is only to protect the border of Saudi Arabia or it will have to get involved in regional wars also.
Agreements or ‘Cash for Deterrence’?
It is being said that this agreement may increase pressure on Pakistan from multiple fronts (India, Afghanistan and Iran). Any B action against Iran can create huge opposition in Pakistan. Some people are seeing this agreement as ‘cash for deterrence’, from which there is little hope of Pakistan getting much benefit.
