After the employees of private companies in Noida, the movement of maids working in housing societies has also started. Even on Wednesday, protests by domestic workers (MEDs) are being seen here in Sector 137. This demonstration is being held outside Purvanchal Society, Ecocity Society and other nearby housing societies. A large number of maids are gathering and protesting with their demands.
Meds are protesting in these societies
The protesting maids say that they are not getting proper wages for their work, and in many places the working hours are also not fixed. Apart from this, there are strict rules of the society like entry-exit restrictions, mandatory identity card and ban on use of lifts. Due to which they have to face problems.
Some workers also alleged that they are not treated respectfully. On the other hand, the society management says that these rules have been made for security reasons and it is necessary to ensure the identity of all the employees. They also say that they are trying to resolve the situation intelligently and are ready to discuss the problems of the workers.
However, the guards and management team of the society are active to ensure that security arrangements are maintained during the demonstration. Local administration and police forces are also present to keep the situation under control.
Private employees are adamant on the demand of salary of Rs 20 thousand
Noida Demonstration of employees of private companies is going on for the last 6 days. There is a demand from the employees to increase the salary to Rs 20 thousand per month. Whereas, after the protest by the employees, the Yogi government had ordered to increase the salary by about Rs 3000 late on Monday night. It was said in the order that this is a temporary increase.
