In villages, women work equally hard as men from sowing to harvesting. Despite this, because the land was in the name of men, women were never included in the government records. This new law has been brought to eliminate this big gap, so that hard working women can get their true identity.

Not just farming, every work will get recognition

In this new law, the definition of woman farmer has been kept quite broad. Now not only those who grow crops, but also women involved in animal husbandry, dairy, poultry, fish farming or beekeeping will be considered farmers. The government will give ‘Women Farmer Identity Card’ to all these women. With the help of this one card, they will easily get the facility of bank loan, crop insurance, government subsidy, seeds, fertilizers and selling their produce directly in the markets.

The government is preparing a special structure to run the entire system properly. For this, a state level committee will be formed which will monitor the entire work. During the discussion in the House, it also came to light that merely giving recognition would not be enough. It is also important to work on the health, nutrition and economic strength of women in rural areas. Some suggestions also came that women should be made co-owners of family farming land.

After the implementation of this law, women will not be called mere laborers in the fields. He will definitely get the status of an independent farmer. The government believes that this step will greatly strengthen women’s participation in the rural economy. They will be able to stand on their own feet and take decisions on their own without depending on anyone.
