Two speed boats collided with each other in Ramgarhtal, Gorakhpur on Sunday night. In this accident, 22-year-old Lakhbuddin of Kushinagar died due to serious head injury, while Qayamuddin Ansari and a child were injured. There were 9 people in one boat and 6 in the other.
The accident occurred due to the high speed of the boats going towards the platform and returning. As soon as information about the incident was received, police and security personnel immediately rescued the injured and took them to the district hospital. The police have registered a case against the accused boat driver and started investigation.
The outing became difficult, there was a shadow of mourning among the cousins.
The deceased has been identified as Lakhbuddin, a resident of Pipra, Kushinagar. Meanwhile, his cousin brother Qayamuddin Ansari and a child are admitted in the hospital. According to doctors, Qayamuddin’s condition remains critical. The other people aboard the boat were safe at the time of the accident and have been sent home.
The boat did not overturn, a terrible accident happened at high speed
According to SP City Nimish Patil, initial investigation revealed that the boat had not overturned. The collision was so strong that the young man lost his life due to direct head injury. Police have taken one boat driver into custody, while the search for the other is underway.
DM ordered investigation report in three days
As soon as the news of the accident was received, DM Deepak Meena and SP reached City Hospital. DM said that FIR has been registered against the drivers. A committee has been formed to investigate the adherence to safety standards, from which a report has been sought within three days.
