This memorandum claimed that during the last 10 to 15 years, Chinese troops have gradually expanded their presence by occupying the border areas of Taksing Circle. Places traditionally used by local residents for hunting and grazing have now been converted into roads, bridges and military camps.

Mention of encroachment at these five places
Referring to five places – Oying, Paniyar, Marpan (Marnafe), Potrang Lake and Tindingtang, NWS said that now these areas have come under the control of China since the year 2020. Some of these places are located near Taksingh headquarters. They are extremely important from cultural and religious point of view for the local communities. The organization also provided some photographs to confirm the claims.

The organization appealed to the Arunachal Pradesh government and the Central government to immediately intervene, so that further activities of China in the border area can be stopped. The Indian Army has been praised in the memorandum. However, it was also said that concrete steps need to be taken to protect these areas.

In the latest statement of the Indian Army, there is no direct comment on the allegations made in the memorandum. However, the Indian Army clearly denied the reports of encroachment by China and setting up of People’s Liberation Army camp in Arunachal Pradesh.

These allegations came to light when just a few weeks ago a meeting was held in Beijing between India and China to discuss border related issues.
