Tall, fair complexion and dark eyes. At the age of 18, during college days, many girls never tired of praising Vinod Khanna’s looks. Everyone had the same suggestion, ‘You look like a hero, go into films’, but Vinod’s father wanted his son to complete his studies and take over the family textile business. The next day Sunil Dutt called Vinod in the office and offered him the film. Anyone would have been very happy to hear this, but Vinod was nervous. He knew that his father would never agree. That evening he reached home and gathered courage and told his father, ‘I have got a job in the film.’ The father immediately pointed the gun at him and said, ‘If you go to the movies, I will shoot you.’ Mother somehow explained well to father.
