The police has revealed the sensational murder case that took place on April 18 in Jani police station area of Meerut. Police have arrested two accused in the case of shooting death of Naresh Sharma, who ran a confectionery shop at Kurali bus stand. The police have also recovered the weapon used in the murder from the accused.
on this incident Meerut K SP Dehat Abhijeet Kumar told in the press conference held in the police lines that on the night of 18 April 2026, Naresh Sharma was shot at Kurali Adda located on National Highway 334 B. Naresh used to sell chips, namkeen and cold drinks etc. at his shop. After the incident, he was taken to Subharti Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead.
In this case, a murder case was filed against unknown people on behalf of Naresh Sharma’s wife. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the police started investigation and examined more than 50 CCTV footage of the surrounding area. Along with this, mobile numbers were also analyzed.
During the investigation, the police got information about two suspects, who were identified as Harsh alias Harshu and Ashish. The police were searching for them and both the accused were continuously running away while hiding. Eventually the police got information and both were arrested. At the time of arrest, police recovered a pistol and a live cartridge from Ashish’s pants. During interrogation, both the accused revealed the entire incident. He told that on the evening of April 18, both of them had gone to Naresh’s shop from their village.
On April 18, a shopkeeper was murdered at Kurali bus stand.
According to the accused, both Ashish and Naresh Sharma had brought beer from the contract and all three sat together and drank alcohol. After this a dispute started over money. It was told that during the Corona period, Naresh had lent 45 thousand rupees to Ashish, out of which 18 thousand rupees were still remaining. When Naresh asked for money from Ashish, he cited financial constraints. Naresh got angry on this matter and started abusing. Meanwhile, Harsh asked Ashish to kill him.
Police arrested both the accused and also recovered weapons.
After this, Ashish took out a pistol from his waist and fired two bullets at Naresh. One bullet hit Naresh’s head, while the other bullet hit the mobile phone kept in his chest pocket. As soon as the bullet hit, Naresh fell on the ground. After committing the crime, both the accused fled from there on foot and went towards Baghpat. Later they kept hiding in the fields and kept running here and there to escape from the police. The police have arrested both the accused and sent them to jail and further action is underway in the case.
