Bag found near dead body, fear of staying there at night

The police also found a bag near the dead body. The bag contained bread and vegetables, a pouch of country liquor, green chillies, pipe, mobile charger and a shawl. Looking at these things, it is suspected that the laborer had stayed there at night and had slept after spreading a shawl between the dividers.

The incident is being reported of a four lane under construction near Bhathat town. Local people say that the dumper drivers who arrived late at night with the soil were not aware that someone was sleeping on the divider.

It is feared that the soil from the dumper was dropped directly on him, due to which he got buried under the soil and died. However, the police is still investigating this entire incident and has not reached any final conclusion.

Wife identified, laborer had not returned home for 10 days

Shortly after the body was recovered, a woman with two children reached the spot. The woman identified the body as that of her husband Mintu, son of Janardan, resident of Deoria. As soon as the identification was made, there was chaos in the family.

Neeta Devi, wife of the deceased, told that she was living with her husband and children in her maternal house located in Tarkulhaan of Gulriha area for the last five years. Mintu used to support his family by working as a labourer.

According to the wife, Mintu had gone to work as a laborer in road construction work in Jangal Kaudiya area about 10 days ago. After this he did not return home. The family was searching for him, but no one had imagined that they would receive the news of his death in this manner.

Will be revealed after post mortem report

After receiving information about the incident, the police took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem. Police are trying to find out whether the death occurred due to being buried in mud or there is some other reason behind it.

Gulriha police station in-charge Inspector Jagdish Pal said that the matter is being investigated. Further action will be taken on the basis of post mortem report and other evidence.

At present, this painful incident has raised serious questions on the security arrangements and monitoring being done in the construction work. Local people are also calling this accident the result of great negligence.
