Sunny Deol said – People connect religion-politics, I always stay away from them: I never do such films which divide people, ‘Gadar’ was also just a love story.

Bollywood actor Sunny Deol said- I do not want to show the face of any religion in the film, but the face of humanity. It is shown in the film that circumstances break a person, but in the end humanity always wins. In the end neither religion nor religion survives… The biggest thing is humanity and our mother is even bigger than that. In today’s society, the way everything is linked to religion and politics, he has always kept himself away from it. Sunny said- I never do such films which divide people. Many times people start watching films from a different perspective, while their objective is completely different. ‘Gadar’ was also never a Hindu-Muslim film for me, it was a family and a love story. Actually, Bollywood actor Sunny Deol, along with his son Karan Deol and director Rajkumar Santoshi reached Jaipur on Wednesday for the promotion of their upcoming film ‘Bantwara 1947’. During this, all three reached Dainik Bhaskar office and talked openly about the film, their long film journey, India-Pakistan partition, humanity, society and responsibility of cinema. It is definitely a partition film, but it does not give a verdict. Sunny Deol said – The film is definitely made on the background of the partition of India, but it does not decide who was right and who was wrong. This story is about the breaking and reuniting of relationships. A person who has gone astray returns to the right path. If the youth watch this film, they will understand many such things in life, which perhaps they are not able to see today. Cinema is also a medium to give direction to the society. We have always tried to give something back to the society through films. ‘Partition 1947’ is also a similar film. When the audience will come out of the theatre, the first thing in their heart will be a feeling of respect and humanity for the mother. Sunny Deol told- While spending his childhood in the villages of Punjab, he heard many true stories of Partition. People talk about those who killed, but the stories of those who risked their lives to save people of other religions are rarely told. Our film salutes those people. Serving mother is the greatest duty. Sunny Deol said emotionally – The biggest message of the film is mother and humanity. I can say with full confidence that this film will not disappoint anyone. There is entertainment, there is action, but more than that there is a strong message. There is no duty greater than serving mother and no religion greater than humanity. There is a dialogue in the film, ‘No religion is bad, there are good and bad people.’ This is the essence of this film. My relationship with Rajasthan is very old. Referring to his love for Rajasthan, Sunny Deol said – I have a relationship with this state since childhood. I have been coming here with my father (Dharmendra) since childhood. Many films have been shot here. Whenever I get a chance, I go out driving myself on the roads and villages of Rajasthan. A different peace and openness is felt here. Rajasthan is one of my favorite states. ‘Sikandar Mirza is my strongest character’ Director Rajkumar Santoshi said – Sikandar Mirza, the hero of ‘Partition 1947’, is one of the strongest characters he has written so far. Superman is not the one who flies in the sky. The real superman is the one who has the courage to stand up to hatred and communalism. Sikandar Mirza is one such person. This character fights not for himself but for the rights and respect of others. Real humanity is to feel the pain of others. Sikandar Mirza does the same. He does not let his conscience die even in the environment of hatred. From the anger of ‘Damini’ to the sentiment of ‘Partition’, Santoshi said – The anger towards the society in my films has always come from personal experiences. He recalled that his mother and grandmother kept making rounds of the courts for years. From there the sensibilities of films like ‘Damini’ were born. There is pain in the film Partition 1947 too, but here the struggle is not only external but also internal. Man fights against circumstances and also fights to save his conscience. Rajkumar Santoshi praised Sunny Deol’s acting style a lot. He said that Sunny does not act, he lives the character. The dialogues of ‘Ghatak’, ‘Damini’, ‘Ghayal’ are still remembered because he spoke them with complete truth and confidence. Even in ‘Partition 1947’, Sunny Deol has lived the character of Sikandar Mirza with complete honesty. I told them this is not your typical action film. This is a film about relationships between family, mother-son, husband-wife and humanity. He accepted it without a second thought. Not acting in front of his father, emotions came out on their own. Karan Deol, who is playing the role of Sunny Deol’s son in the film, said that this was a much greater experience for him than acting. My real father was in front of me on the screen. There was no need to act in emotional scenes. We both got really emotional in many scenes. Raj sir and Aamir sir trusted me, it’s a big thing for me.
