Along with the big announcement of cancellation of NEET exam held on 3rd May, NTA has shared some points by posting on social media platform X, instructing the students to remain calm. The agency has said that based on the inputs received from the investigating agencies and reports from law enforcement agencies, it was not found appropriate to continue the examination process.
Why was the decision taken?
According to its press release, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has shared information related to NEET UG 2026 with the candidates, parents and the general public. The agency said that on May 8, 2026, some cases were sent to the central agencies for impartial investigation and verification, after which the examination had to be cancelled. This step was taken so that the national examinations can be conducted in a completely transparent, secure and reliable manner.
On the basis of information and investigation reports received from central agencies and law enforcement agencies, NTA found that the possibility of irregularities in the examination process cannot be ignored. For this reason, after the approval of the Government of India, the National Testing Agency has decided to cancel the NEET (UG) 2026 examination held on 3 May 2026. Now this examination will be conducted again, new dates of which will be announced later.
On the basis of the information received by NTA and the investigation report of law enforcement agencies, it has been decided that it would not be right to continue the current examination process. Now the examination will be conducted again and its dates will be announced soon. Also, the complete schedule of issuing new admit cards will also be released in the coming days on the official website of NTA and other official mediums.
