Ingredients
1 bowl semolina
1 bowl Mango pulp of
1 bowl milk
Desi ghee – 1 bowl
sugar as per taste
2-3 tbsp chopped dry fruits
1 tsp cardamom powder
10-12 saffron threads
2-3 drops mango essence (optional)
How to make Mango Halwa?
- First of all choose sweet and ripe mangoes. Wash the mango, peel it and take out the pulp and keep it aside.
- Now put desi ghee in a pan and heat it on low flame. When the ghee melts, add semolina to it and fry it while stirring continuously until it becomes light golden.
- After this, add mango pulp in the pan and mix it well with semolina. After cooking for a few minutes, add milk to it and mix well. Then cover the pan and let it cook on low flame. Keep stirring the mixture in between, so that it does not stick to the bottom.
- When the mixture starts thickening, add sugar as per taste and mix well. Meanwhile, soak saffron threads in a small bowl of milk. Then add this saffron milk to the halwa and mix it.
- Now add cardamom powder and chopped dry fruits into it. If you want to increase the color and aroma of mango in the halwa, you can also add 2-3 drops of mango essence in it.
- If the halwa seems too thick and the semolina is not completely cooked, then add a little more milk and cook for some time. When the halwa thickens well and a pleasant aroma starts coming from it, turn off the gas.
- Now your delicious mango halwa is ready. Take it out in a serving bowl, garnish with dry fruits on top and enjoy it hot or slightly chilled with the family.
