Gurugram Comedy Show Mocked Women Safety
The ongoing controversy over the statement of ‘370 rupees biryani’ in the show of former ‘Bigg Boss 19’ contestant and standup comedian Pranit More is not stopping. Now Gurugram Police has registered an FIR in this matter. Comedy in the FIR lodged in DLF Phase-2 police station

It was told by Gurugram Police that this was done after Himanshu Jangra made very objectionable and suspicious remarks on women during Comedy Shore. This controversial program took place at “The Laugh Store” located in DLF Phase-2, whose video is being criticized across the country after going viral.
Police spokesperson Sandeep Kumar said that on the basis of the complaint of the National Commission for Women and suo motu cognizance by the police, an FIR has been lodged under Section 67 IT Act and 294, 353(3), 75(2), 75(3) BNS. Notice has been issued to Himanshu Jangra and Praneet More to join the investigation.
Also, to stop the spread of this video, action has been taken to remove the video by sending legal notices to the concerned social media platforms. Let us tell you that Maharashtra Cyber Police has also registered an FIR against comedian Pranit More in this case.

This whole controversy started a few days ago with the show of stand-up comedian Praneet More organized at ‘The Laugh Store’ located in Cyber City, Gurugram. Praneet More was interacting with the audience (crowd-work) during the show. Meanwhile, Himanshu Jangra, a 22-year-old web developer from Gurugram who was sitting in the audience, told the story of one of his dates.
Himanshu told that he had gone out with a girl and he had bought chicken biryani worth Rs 370 for her. He further explained that when the woman asked him to drop her home, he expected physical intimacy as compensation for his expenses.
In the show, Himanshu had presented as a joke that he had physical relations with a woman in exchange for money and forcibly took her to a deserted park. Said – “I have spent Rs 370, I will recover it”.

People criticized Jangra’s comment on many platforms including Instagram and X. As the protests escalated, Pranit More publicly apologized. In the Instagram story, More wrote-
I accept the criticism I have received regarding the clip that went viral recently. Viewer comments are not my views. I should have replied better at that time. We have removed the video. I apologize and will handle such matters with more responsibility and sensitivity in future.

- I should have stopped right then: Praneet admitted that if he wanted, he could have stopped that person or protested. But by not doing so, they gave him a platform, which further aggravated the matter. Praneeth said that he apologizes to those whose sentiments have been hurt by this.
- Appeal to people to give one more chance: Praneeth had also said that he is fully cooperating with the authorities in the ongoing legal proceedings in the case. He also appealed to the people to give him another chance. He had said that he has learned from this incident and he is working on himself. This change will also be seen in their content and work in future.

Himanshu Jangra was fired from the job
Starwick Design took action against Jangra in this matter and fired him from the job. Company founder Vivek Vishwakarma had issued a video statement saying, “In the last 24 hours, I have received hundreds of messages, emails and phone calls regarding one of our employees, Himanshu Jangra. Like all of you, I have also seen the video clips going viral on social media.
I want to say clearly that the things shown in those videos are objectionable. I don’t agree with those things. Our company also does not support such views nor do we want such things to influence the youth.”
As the controversy escalated, Himanshu also released the video.
