According to Pakistan-based news portal ‘The Balochistan Post’ (TBA), armed fighters of BLA opened fire on the boat on Sunday when it was on routine patrol near the Pakistan-Iran maritime border. Three Coast Guard soldiers aboard the boat were killed in this attack. Pakistani intelligence and police officials said the boat was patrolling the coastal area near the Pakistan-Iran border when armed Baloch insurgents opened fire.
According to ANI, BLA has claimed that all three soldiers on the boat were killed and identified them as Naik Afzal, Sepoy Jamil and Sepoy Umar.

The news outlet also reported that he said the aim was to ‘stop the plunder of Baloch resources through sea routes and cause harm to the enemy on every front’.
The attack took place near Gwadar, which is a strategically important port connected to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). This attack has further increased concerns about the security of critical infrastructure in the area.

According to TBP, BLA spokesperson Ziyand Baloch said that this unit conducted its first operation at around 10:00 am at a place named ‘Mil Tiyab’ in Jiwani area.
