Bengali Actress Sreelekha Mitra Controversy

Several complaints have been filed against Bengali actress Sreelekha Mitra for holding an objectionable poster of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Bengal BJP leader Keya Ghosh has also strongly condemned this while filing a complaint against him.

There are allegations against actress Sreelekha that she became a part of the student protest in Kolkata on Friday. The same day, her pictures went viral, in which she was holding an obscene poster of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

After registering the complaint, BJP leader Keya Ghosh said, ‘I have filed a complaint at Anandpur police station against the poor posters shown by actress Srilekha for the respected Prime Minister in the name of student movement. We have demanded his immediate arrest. The incidents of hooliganism and attacks on journalists have taken place in the name of student movement. Even female journalists were not spared. They were molested. This leftist actress here is showing such a cheap and dirty poster against the Prime Minister, which I cannot even show here.

The actress gave clarification, said- was not wearing glasses

After the complaints were filed, the actress gave a clarification on Sunday. According to Telegraph India, the actress said, ‘I have heard that many complaints have been made against me. I want to make it clear that there was a huge crowd in the protest. So much so that I couldn’t even look at the poster carefully. Most women do not pay attention to the lower part of a man’s body. I saw a caricature of Modi ji, in which he had his hands spread. I found that funny. Apart from this I did not notice anything else.

He further said, ‘Those posters were made by someone else. I just saw one of those posters and got a photo taken with it. If they want to arrest me for this, then do so. If you want, you can even hang me. And if that happens, I am sure there will be another big protest against it. The government should be prepared for that.

Apart from Anandpur, a complaint has also been registered against Sreelekha Mitra in the cyber police of Bidannagar. A case has been registered at Anandpur police station under sections 352, 353(2) and 356(3) of the Indian Judicial Code (BNS), Anandpur PS case number 302, dated 26.07.2026. At present the investigation of this matter is going on.

Harassment complaint was filed against Malayali filmmaker

Earlier, Bengali actress Sreelekha was in the news for filing a complaint of sexual harassment against Malayalam director Ranjit. After the Hema report, the actress claimed in her complaint that in 2009, Ranjeet called her to her house in the name of giving her a film and harassed her.
