Asha Bhosle watched the play a day before her death: While scolding people, she talked about keeping the art alive.
Singer Asha Bhosle had gone to watch a three-hour Marathi play in Mumbai a day before her death. There she also went on stage and scolded the people who came to watch the play and talked about keeping the art alive. Asha Bhosle’s grandson Chintu Bhosle told this in an interview given to Screen. Asha Bhosle died on April 12 at the age of 92. He is survived by son Anand Bhosle and grandchildren Janai Bhosle and Chintu Bhosle. Recalling the last moments of Asha Bhosle, Chintu said that their last conversation took place 3-4 days before her death. That evening they talked about the Iran-America-Israel war and ate mangoes together. He further said, ‘She went very peacefully. He died in his sleep. He had no pain. We said we would come to the hospital, but he said, ‘Let me sleep for a while.’ He left this world on his own terms, just as he lived his entire life. The family is trying to overcome the grief. Talking about the family, Chintu said that everyone is trying to overcome this grief. He told that Janai is completely heartbroken by this news, because she was very close to Asha Bhosle. Both of them had done many shows together. Chintu said that the family is celebrating Asha Bhosle’s life even in sorrow. Everyone sits together, has dinner, talks and laughs. He said that this is the way he is handling this grief.
