An employee has died due to electrocution on the sets of superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming Tamil film ‘Jailor 2’. The incident took place on a set of Adityaram Film City located at Panayyur on East Coast Road (ECR), Chennai. According to PTI report, the deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Karthikeyan. The accident happened at the shooting location in Panayiyur. According to the information received, Karthikeyan was working on preparing a home-like set for the shooting of the film. During this time, he got a strong electric shock, due to which he died. According to the police, Karthikeyan was engaged in work related to art direction. Kanathur police said that FIR has not been registered in the matter yet. Police are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the electrical leakage. The shooting of Jailer 2 has been completed. This incident happened a few days after the announcement by the film’s production company Sun Pictures that the shooting of Jailer 2 has been completed. On April 21, the makers had shared pictures of the wrap-up party on social media, in which Rajinikanth and director Nelson were seen cutting the cake with the cast and crew. The release date of the film may change. Rajinikanth had earlier told the media that the film may be released on June 12. At the same time, recently Pinkvilla’s report had said in its report that there may be a change in the release date of the film. Now the film is likely to be released on 4 September 2026. This date is falling on the occasion of Krishna Jayanti. The film is the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Jailer. In this, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu and Mirna will return to their old roles.
