New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron to India, expressing confidence that the visit will deepen bilateral cooperation and contribute to global progress.In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, “Welcome to India. India looks forward to your visit and taking our bilateral relations to new heights. I am sure our discussions will strengthen cooperation in various fields and contribute to global progress. See you in Mumbai and later in Delhi, my dear friend Emmanuel Macron”.During the visit, Modi and Macron will participate in bilateral discussions aimed at strengthening India-France relations in key sectors.Meanwhile, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “Warm welcome to French President Emmanuel Macron. Maharashtra and Gujarat Governors Acharya Devabrata gave him a warm welcome at the Mumbai airport… During the visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a bilateral meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.” Macron’s visit is expected to focus on expanding cooperation in strategic, economic and innovation fields, with the launch of India France Year of Innovation 2026 marking a major highlight of the visit.
