Jailed Rajpal Yadav’s fees increased: Priyadarshan said – Considering his condition in the next film, producers were asked to pay more

Filmmaker Priyadarshan said that the fees of actor Rajpal Yadav has been increased in his next film. It is noteworthy that Rajpal Yadav is in Tihar jail in check bounce case. In an interview to Mid-Day, Priyadarshan said, “I have known him for more than 20 years. I saw him for the first time in the film ‘Jungle’. His performance surprised me.” He further said, “My first film with him was ‘Malamaal Weekly’. After that he appeared in most of my films. I asked Jubilee Films, the producers of my next film, to pay Rajpal more than usual considering his condition. We want to save him. The producers have agreed. He is playing the role of a villain in my film.” Rajpal is a good person – Priyadarshan Priyadarshan also said that he was already aware of Rajpal’s problem. He said, “I was aware of his problems. That’s why I kept signing him in every film. I even got him to work in ad films. He made a mistake. It was due to lack of financial understanding, not out of bad intentions. Rajpal is a good person.” Rajpal will not get bail till 16th February. Let us tell you that Rajpal Yadav had surrendered in Delhi’s Tihar Jail on 5th February in the check bounce case. Rajpal’s bail petition was heard in the Delhi High Court on 12 February. The actor’s bail plea was rejected by the court. During the hearing, the court had also reprimanded the actor. Delhi High Court had asked Rajpal Yadav why he was demanding cancellation of the sentence? He himself admitted that he had borrowed the money and had promised to return it. In such a situation, on what basis is the demand to stop the punishment now being made? In response to this, the actor’s lawyer had said that he (Rajpal) had told the court on the same day that he wanted to resolve the matter. Rajpal surrendered in the court to fulfill his promise. The actor wants to repay the Rs 5 crore that was invested in the film and till now more than Rs 3 crore has been paid. The court reprimanded Rajpal Yadav and said that it does not understand why this debate is taking place. You filed a petition and said that you will return the money, but then did not pay for years. Due to non-compliance of previous orders, you had to surrender in jail. The court also said that you were given 25-30 chances. Now why do you want to reopen this case? You have to explain why there was a delay in giving the money. I may sympathize with you, but the law is the law. If you are ready to deposit the amount then the hearing will be continued further. Rajpal Yadav’s lawyer said that he is ready to deposit the money in the court, but is demanding bail because of a marriage in the family. The next hearing on Rajpal Yadav’s bail plea is scheduled to be held on February 16. Till he remains in Tihar Jail. Why is Rajpal Yadav in jail? In the year 2010, Rajpal Yadav had taken a loan of Rs 5 crore from private company Murali Projects Private Limited to make the film Ata Pata Lapata. This film was a flop and Rajpal Yadav had to face financial crisis. Rajpal could not return the loan amount in time. The checks given by Rajpal to the company while taking the loan bounced, after which a complaint was filed against the actor. Despite the agreement between the two parties, full payment was not made and with time interest kept getting added, due to which the total debt increased significantly. In 2018, Karkardooma Court of Delhi convicted Rajpal Yadav and sentenced him to six months in jail. He then appealed to the High Court, where he got relief several times, as he had given assurances of payment and settlement. Before surrender, Rajpal had said – I do not have money. Before surrendering, Rajpal had said that he did not have money to return. When he went to jail, Sonu Sood appealed to the industry to unite and help the actor. After this many people came forward to help Rajpal Yadav. Many people like Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan, David Dhawan gave financial help to the actor.
