Delhi CM disburses education aid to 15,700 workers’ children | India News


দিল্লির মুখ্যমন্ত্রী 15,700 শ্রমিকের সন্তানদের শিক্ষা সহায়তা প্রদান করেছেন Addressing a gathering of workers at Thyagraj Stadium, Gupta said his government would disburse a corpus of Rs 12.40 crore to help the children of workers realize their dreams of education. The financial assistance was credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through direct benefit transfer. Under this scheme, children of workers from classes 1 to 8 get Rs 500 per month, students of classes 9 and 10 get Rs 700 per month and students of classes 11 and 12 get Rs 1,000 per month. Graduate students are eligible for Rs 3,000 per month, while those pursuing technical and professional courses like ITI, polytechnic, engineering, medical and MBA programs can get up to Rs 10,000 per month. Gupta was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Delhi along with his Council of Ministers on February 20 last year. The BJP government has launched welfare initiatives and development schemes to mark the anniversary. He said his government has launched many initiatives, such as ‘Palana’, a crèche for children of working women and Atal canteens which provide food at Rs 5 per person. Gupta said the Delhi government was the first to adopt four labor codes from the Center to protect the interests of workers. The Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board has registered more than two lakh workers and with this every penny of Rs 5,400 crore will be spent on workers’ welfare, he said. Delhi Labor Minister Kapil Mishra said the government is in a scheme to provide financial assistance to workers in emergencies like workplace accidents. The chief minister also inaugurated newly constructed panchayat buildings in two villages and laid the foundation stones of 59 development projects in 37 villages.The Rs 134 crore projects will enhance infrastructure and civic amenities in rural Delhi, a CMO statement said.
